YogaIt is said that yoga is thousands of years old, as old as humanity. Yoga is an ancient system and process to enhance human beings so that they can find their highest potential within themselves. On a physical level, yoga exercises the skeletal and muscular systems, as well as the internal organs and all the involuntary systems. It aligns the physical, mental, and energy systems in such a way that health and well being come from within. I was taught yoga not as a exercise or form of therapy, but as a discipline, as a system that has the capability to enhance human perception. It is a practice, a path to transcend our limitations… to become more open and connected to life and truth. And now yoga…."If you still believe that building a new house, or finding a new wife, or getting your daughter married will settle your life, it is not yet time for yoga. But, if you have seen money, power, wealth and pleasure, you have tasted everything in your life and you have realized that nothing is going to work in the real sense and fulfill you ultimately, then it is time for yoga." -Sadhguru

 Yoga

It is said that yoga is thousands of years old, as old as humanity.

It is a practice, a path to transcend our limitations, to become more open and connected to life and truth.

And now yoga….

"If you still believe that building a new house, or finding a new wife, or getting your daughter married will settle your life, it is not yet time for yoga. But, if you have seen money, power, wealth and pleasure, you have tasted everything in your life and you have realized that nothing is going to work in the real sense and fulfill you ultimately, then it is time for yoga." -Sadhguru

PilatesDeveloped roughly a hundred years ago by Joseph H. Pilates. Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. It is a series of controlled movements performed on specially designed spring-resistant apparatus (equipment) and on the floor (mat work). Some of the key elements of Pilates are focused breathing, core muscle strength, spinal alignment, posture, and muscle control.Over the years, as most things go... Pilates has taken on many different shapes and forms as it has passed from teacher to teacher. Some styles have taken on a more therapeutic approach and are taught in a slower and more deliberate manner. While others are taught in a more energetic and athletic way focusing on movement and flow. The Pilates method can be customized to suit everyone from rehab patients to elite athletes.“No man- no machine can correct or create vitality, power, or health for you; everything comes from within, you have to unfold it.” - Joseph Pilates

Move and Be StillMaBS is a fusion comprised of my experience with Yoga, Pilates, meditation, and therapeutic movement.Without having to follow a disciplined or specific order, it allows me to work intuitively with my clients. With a focus on presence, your naturalness, and the simplicity of breathing and moving. As we go through the session every movement is an experience to be felt. Connected, alive, vulnerable, strong, grounded… Ultimately feeling more deeply connected into your body, your being, and daily life. The session is a combination of full body movement that involves stretching, strengthening, balance, breathing, mind-body connection, and stillness. Each class may vary depending on who is in front of me and how we feel that day. The movement may be tailored to specific needs or limitations.  It is safe, rewarding, and each session is never quite the same.If you have a body, movement is needed… If you’re living in this world, taking time to be still and slow down is extremely beneficial not only for the mind, but the entire system.

Move and Be Still

I see clients privately and in duets. The sessions are a fusion of Pilates, yoga, and therapeutic movement tailored to each individual.

With a focus on presence, your naturalness, and the simplicity of breathing and moving.

As we go through the session, every movement is an experience to be felt. Connected, strong, alive, grounded. Ultimately feeling more deeply connected into your body, your being, and daily life.

The session is a combination of full body movement that incorporates the Pilates apparatus. Each session involves stretching, strengthening, balance, focused breathing, and mind-body connection.

Each session may vary depending on who is in front of me and how we feel that day. The movement may be tailored to specific needs or limitations.

It is safe, rewarding, and each session is never quite the same.

If you have a body, movement is needed… If you’re living in this world, taking time to be still and slow down is extremely beneficial not only for the mind, but the entire system.
